There are millions of Apple fans around the world who are addicted to all their products and love the ecosystem experience where they can virtually sync all their devices. But Apple is about to take it one step further and will provide you with an ecosystem where all your devices will be connected to your car as well.
Yes, you guessed it right; Apple has plans to launch their own electric car by 2024. It might be known as an iCar. It will be fully electric, self-driving, will have a new battery technology that will help it to travel a long range and will also be equipped with LIDAR sensors too.
But some experts believe that Apple won’t be able to pull off an electric vehicle as good as Tesla or any other car manufacturer. But some experts argue for them as this was also said when they entered the phone manufacturing segment.
Experts thought that they won’t be successful in delivering quality phones that people will actually like. But we all know what happened in the past. We all can remember how Steve Jobs changed the entire landscape of using a phone by unveiling an iPhone in 2007. History favors Apple.
If they did it before then they can certainly do it again. They have a positive momentum in their side as they’re the largest company in the world by market capitalization. As of writing this blog, they have a market capitalization of $2.23 trillion.
Tesla has more than 20% of the EV market and they will definitely lose some market share once other car manufacturer’s step in with their models that are as good as a Tesla. Today the EV market is close to 2 million units per year and eventually it will go up to 50 million units and maybe to 100 million units as well.
According to some predictions, the EV market will grow at a pace of 20% per year for the next 20-30 years as the world is adopting more and more EVs.
